Racism

I do not like it.

My neighbour from across the street is this old italian man. He has diabetes, and because he's old he can't inject himself, so he needs a home-nurse coming to his house everyday. At first this insanely hot male-nurse, who used to come and take my dad's blood, was his home-nurse. But then his rounds changed so my neighbour got another nurse. This was a young, quite modern turkish lady. He let her in, let her do her thang and then she went on with her shift.

But.

In the evening, this old man called the head-nurse(who's now my dad's blood-stealer ), telling her he will not have that turkish nurse inject him anymore because turkish people stink, are filthy and wrong.
Everyone was pretty shocked, but okay.. they changed shifts again, and some other lady went to his house everyday. Until one day there was a mix-up in the shifts, and the turkish lady had to go again. He refused to let her in. And then he called the head-nurse again, and told her he won't be having any of her nurses anymore, and he 'fired' them and he now has some other home-nurse-company coming to his house everyday.

I despise that man.

It just doesn't make any sense, blahh.

I respect everyone.. until they lose my respect.

Racism sucks. I've been a victim of it. Some people are just set in their ways so no matter what you say or do they will never change their minds. But, I always try to educate people. I try to debunk most stereotypes, because in reality we are more alike than we are different. I'm from a state where there is a lot of diversity. So imagine my shock when I went to Virginia the first time and I was surrounded by people that had never met a Mexican (Chicana). Wow I had to correct a lot of their misconceptions.

Yeah! That's what I was trying to say haha.
Like I don't generalize them or disrespect
them until they've proven to fit that crappy
stereotype, then it's all down hill from there.

Racism is terrible. I can never forget when this kid in my fourth grade class kept calling me "Tinginson" (a ploy on making fun of my last name's Asian-ness) or how one Christmas when I was 10 or so, these guys threw rocks at my mom and me, screaming "CHINESE, CHINESE, CHINESE!" And I'm Filipino, too.

Which brings me to inter-racial racism, actually. This guy who lives at my other house always comments on rich v. poor in the Philippines and how even darker skinned people look "dirty" and "impoverished." I really dislike judgment in general, but judging your own race is, to me, especially ridiculous.

It is stupid and pointless and that's all I really have to say on it.
